The theme of this year’s conference is “Demystifying Success in Urban Forestry“. The Keynote Speaker is Dr, Cynnamon Dobbs of the University of Connecticut. Dr. Dobbs will talk about “Urban Forests for All: Thinking Beyond Tree Planting“.

The program will also include two panels discussing success within urban forestry. The first panel, on “Planning for Success in Urban Forestry“, will be moderated by Dr. Danica Doroski, Urban Forestry Coordinator at DEEP. The panel, on “Implementing Success in Urban Forestry“, will be moderated by Heather Dionne of Sav-A-Tree.

The conference will conclude with a presentation on a successful urban forestry program. Martin Begnal of the Friends of Riverside Cemetery in Waterbury will present on the Cemetery’s efforts as it has been “Learning to Love its Trees“. As the Friends of Riverside have sought to revitalize this 36 acre historical site right in the middle of Waterbury, they have come to appreciate the importance of trees as integral to all that the cemetery is.

In addition to the presenters, exhibitors have also been invited to participate in the Conference. Time has been allocated with the program to allow attendees to visit with the exhibitors. Attendees may also earn Continuing Education Credits by listening to the presenters and visiting with the exhibitors.

Space for exhibitors is limited. The registration rate for commercial exhibitors is $150. For non-profits, the registration rate is $100. This includes one lunch ticket.

We hope to see you there! Please let us know if you have any questions.
